I’m always trying to understand the events of my life and searching for truths that touch others. What drives me is the urge to connect.
So what is my life about? I’m a volunteer tutor in an English language learners program for adults. I read constantly. Eating is one of my favorite things to do (yeah, I’m a foodie, but not the snobby kind). Color and texture fascinate me, which is why I like gardening, pottery, and quilting. I’m Mom to two grown sons, wife to one really nice man, sister to my extended family in Ohio, and the boss of a naughty cat.
The personal essays and memoir I write often touch on family relationships. My work has been published in anthologies and literary magazines, and I’ve written a workplace coming-of-age memoir that takes place in 1979 and 1980 during my first year of college teaching.
My blogs are on topics of interest to working women, middle-aged mothers, Baby Boomers, people who love to read and write.
I hope you’ll enjoy my posts—please let me know what you think!

Thanks so much, Ellen 🙂 I’m hoping I’ll launch them (2) some time within the coming weeks. Certain ducks have to be in a row first! I hope they’re worth following. I’ll be putting out a 1-time DM to twitter followers and notifying when I do, hoping people will stop by. That’s why I put up the “follow pre-launch” suggestion ’cause anyone who’s following before hand will automatically know when the sites go LIVE. Hope to see you there, too 🙂
Glad to have discovered you ladies (through Patrick’s blog) 🙂 I haven’t been able to keep up with the many blogs I follow (catching up on life instead), but am hoping I can get back to it soon. Looks like there’s some valuable posts here 😀
Thank you so much! As I read through thr comments on Patrick’s blog, I thought you added a valuable perspective. And, I’m behind on reading blogs, too, but I looking forward to seeing yours.
Great photos past AND present! Can’t wait to hear more! —P. Raeburn
Looking forward to “getting to know” the sisters!
I can’t wait to see what you two sisters dish out — Congratulations on launching into the blogosphere! ~ Kristin
